The inaugural GUKPT Goliath took place in August 2011 at the home of Coventry City Football Club, exceeding its £100,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool and breaking the European record tournament field with 1,765 runners.

Introducing GUKPT Goliath at the Ricoh Arena, a unique opportunity to attempt the ultimate live poker challenge; taking on the largest ever tournament field in Europe and for a buy-in of just £100 + £20 registration – the richest prize pool ever seen at this buy-in level. The Goliath features the best tournament structure a £100 buy in event has ever seen with 25,000 starting stack and 40 minute blinds for days 1 and 2 moving to 60 minute blinds for the final table.

With every entrant into the tournament, 25% of the registration fee goes to Marie Curie Cancer Care, who are a charity partner to both the Coventry City Football Club and Grosvenor Casinos.

Also, should you run into a horrific bad beat and bust out earlier than you anticipated, in the Goliath tournament you have the chance to re-enter!

Terms of Re-entry:  A player may re-enter the Goliath Main Event up to a maximum of twice.  Re-entry on the same day is not permitted.

The winner of the 2011 Team Challenge was Team Punters Lounge C, given a boost by the final table appearance of star member Helen Godfrey - she finished 5th winning £8,120 for her performance in this giant Main Event. A total of 428 players in 85 teams took part.
