Well that's it from Manchester and the first leg of the 2012 GukPT Tour. 171 players turned up each stumping up the £1000 to play creating a prizepool of £171,000 and a £49,600 first prize. This was the first time we only had one starting day, but it made for a great Day one as the cardroom was busy with 17 tables full which created a great atmosphere. Michael Kane dominated the early stages and at one point on Day One, he had five times the average stack. Although he dominated the starting levels, it was Sam Grafton who finished the day on top, gradually increasing his stack and finishing the day with with 188,000. Day Two begun with 50 players and it seemed like a rollercoaster for everyone involved, the chip lead would change numerous times between Jamie Ellwood, Sam Grafton, Lewis Hunter just a few of the players who held onto the chip lead over day two. We would finish early on Day Two with a level and 10 minutes still to play. Sam Grafton held the chip lead on the final going into today with over a third of the chips in play. It was a great final and a very impressive battle heads up by two aggressive players and either player would of thoroughly deserved the title. Lewis Hunter eventually winning it and taking the title back up the road.

That's it though from us for this leg. We hope you have enjoyed our coverage and will join us again in March for the second leg in Walsall. From everyone here at the GukPT, be lucky!!!
