The GUKPT Leaderboard is bigger and better in 2008 with £30,000 in prizes provided by tour sponsor Blue Square Poker. Unlike 2007, side event, as well as main events will also carry ranking points, so the tour will be far more competitive this year. The online GUKPT festival and monthly online GUKPT leagues will also carry ranking points. The winner of the GUKPT leaderboard will also be declared the 2008 GUKPT Player of the Year.

1. The GUKPT reserves the right not to award full points for any player or players in any event if it is deemed to have been completed in an uncompetitive manner. In such cases players will be awarded points equivalent to those awarded to the last player to be eliminated before the event became uncompetitive. If a deal takes place, this does not necessarily mean the finish is uncompetitive.

2. Any player who is no longer a member of any Grosvenor/G Casino (or is suspended) on the day of the final competitive ranking event will be disqualified and may not claim a prize. Their prize will be awarded to the next highest finishing player.
