The prize money for the 2009 GUKPT rankings has been upped to £50,000 with a £20,000 prize for the winner and cash prizes for the top 18 players. Side event, main events, Heads Up Events, Online events and the National League all carry ranking points, making it the richest and most competitive rankings system in Europe. The winner of the GUKPT rankings will also be declared the 2009 GUKPT Player of the Year.

1. The GUKPT reserves the right not to award full points for any player or players in any event if it is deemed to have been completed in an uncompetitive manner. In such cases players will be awarded points equivalent to those awarded to the last player to be eliminated before the event became uncompetitive. If a deal takes place, this does not necessarily mean the finish is uncompetitive.

2. Any player who is no longer a member of any Grosvenor/G Casino (or is suspended) on the day of the final competitive ranking event will be disqualified and may not claim a prize. Their prize will be awarded to the next highest finishing player.

3. Points will only be awarded to players in the prize money, so for example, in an event that pays six players, only the top six will be awarded ranking points.

4. Prizes will be paid into Blue Square accounts by 31st December 2009.
