The second batch of gcasino.com sponsored GUKPT Summer Series festivals is now complete. The G Casino in Luton hosted a five-day festival with a £500 main event while several hundred miles north, the G Casino in Aberdeen held a four-day festival featuring a £300 main event.

The Luton festival kicked off with a £150 NL Hold'em freezeout, which was won by Guiseppe Fontana, who outlasted a field of 107 players to claim victory. There were also side event wins for Alex Burton, who won the 69-runner £250 NL Hold'em freezeout, Chen Tan (£250 PL Omaha Double Chance Freezeout) and Ian Wilmott (£100 NL Hold'em Bounty Freezeout). The £500 main event was contested by 53 players and was won by Reading's Graham Pound, who took down the first prize of £8,740. Pound, a highly accomplished tournament player, defeated Gavin Hall heads up to take the trophy and claim his seat into the £150,000 GUKPT Champion of Champions tournament. Gavin, along with third and fourth placed finishers Kevin Williams and Jamie Burland were sponsored into the event by Black Belt Poker. At one point these three dominated the chip counts but just missed out on completing a clean sweep for Team Channing.

Meanwhile, the G Casino in Aberdeen was hosting a smaller festival, featuring a £300 main event. There were side event wins for Alisha Skene (£200 NL Hold'em Freezeout), David Gooch (£150 NL Hold'em Freezeout) and Richard Scott (£100 NL Hold'em Bounty Freezeout). However it was Deborah Masson who secured victory in the main event, becoming the first female winner of a main event at a GUKPT festival. She defeated a field of just 33 player to win the £3,670 first prize.

The next stops on the Summer Series begin next week, when the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall hosts a six day festival, which starts on Tuesday 22nd June. It includes five side events and a £500 main event. Last year Vinny Price beat a field of 121 players to claim the Walsall Summer Series main event. Commencing on Thursday 24th June, the Grosvenor Casino in Newcastle hosts a four-day festival with three side events and a £300 main event.
